Conference kick-off
At inTEC, we work hard everyday to deliver the very best for our customers. At our recent 2024 inVOLVE Conference, we took a well-deserved opportunity to pause and come together as One Team, all ‘in-SYNC’, to look back on how far we’ve come and hear all about the journey ahead. Special guest Jez Allinson got the afternoon underway by telling his truly inspiring story. Jez, better known as the Running Stormtrooper, showed us just how far you can get when you have a mission to strive toward – and the determination to achieve it.
We heard how what started as a London Marathon in a Star Wars costume turned into a fundraising journey which spanned almost a decade, taking Jez into the record books and to Star Wars’ spiritual home, Pinewood Studios, all toward raising over £80,000 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation and Spread a Smile. Jez had such consistent success as he never stopped moving – one foot in front of the other in the suit, and constant evolution in his fundraising strategy. Jez’s innovation and ability to keep the Running Stormtrooper fresh are as worthy of admiration as his running – and both can teach us a lot about what we need to do at inTEC to keep ahead of the game.
inTEC – the past and the future
After that, it was time to reflect on our own journey, taking us from a Galaxy far, far away to a time that now feels long, long ago – inTEC in its very earliest days. Simon Howitt, Founder and Co-Chairman, invited us all to take a minute to consider where we have come from – a different logo, a handful of staff and a determination to pursue a vision for a better way of providing IT solutions – before handing over to our Exec to show us what the future can hold, as we bring inTEC 3.0 to life.
COO Melissa Rambridge introduced us to a re-vamped set of values to help us strive toward our mission of enhancing the talent of the team we have built toward realising our potential in the market. These new values – being Curious, Open and Determined – are the result of extensive consultations with the team and capture the essence of exactly what it means to be inTEC. Over the next quarter, there is more to be done to get every part of the business working ‘inSYNC’, as we look to lay the foundations for an exciting 2025.
Next, it was over to ‘Captain EBITDA’, aka our CFO, Rick Vogt. This was a great opportunity to hear Rick go into more detail on how we measure financial performance and just what it means to each and everyone of us. We saw what good looks like and how we can all contribute to the team’s wider goals, as well as how we will all reap the rewards of those efforts, with a benefits revamp already on the way.
CTO Mick Satiar set out his vision for inTEC being trailblazers in our field – building solid, reliable foundations on which we can support our customers to excel, innovate and thrive. We heard how AI, automation and Cloud will become increasingly key to the latest age of IT and heard more about our critical focus on cyber security – with our bespoke inTRUST package central to our work.
Lastly, Russ Simmonite (CRO) pulled all of this together, showing us just how great the opportunity is for inTEC 3.0 to grow – and helping us see the role we can all play in this journey.
Sponsored presentations
After a short break, we re-took our seats to hear from a number of event sponsors, as representatives from our partners at Giacom, Microsoft, Ruckus and Kaseya showed us how they will support inTEC 3.0 to realise its ambitions. Max Dibble and Charlie Harris took us through the opportunities available to work with Giacom and Microsoft to deliver innovative Cloud and AI solutions to our customers, showing us the opportunity available and the support in place to help us get there. Paul Summerland showed us what can be achieved through our partnership with Ruckus, taking us beyond just Wi-Fi and Switching with Ruckus One, an AI-driven Network Assurance and Business Intelligence Platform, making deployment and management of future-proofed networks simple and straightforward.
After mixed success at silently lining ourselves up by height (easy), birth month (less easy) and office location (very easy when you have a whole row based in one place – oops!), we took our seats for the final time to hear from Kaseya’s Jack Cooke. Jack provided a great note to finish, giving us a great real-world view of our inTRUST cyber security package and re-affirming the scale of the support available to us from Kaseya on every step of our journey.
Thanks go to all of our event sponsors and their speakers – it was great to hear how our inTEC One Team has the support of some of the very best in the industry!
One Team inSYNC – time to celebrate!
After a great afternoon, which opened our eyes to what we can achieve as One Team, it was high-time to celebrate that team, as the corks popped and the dancefloor beckoned. New relationships were forged, long-time colleagues caught up and, together, we celebrated our award-winners, a selection of the people who show the very best of inTEC.
A huge thank you to everyone who was involved in the organisation of such a wonderful event. Here’s to inTEC 3.0 – and the success that we can bring it, as One Team working inSYNC toward our goals.
