PART 3: THE BIG GOAL – inTEC support ‘Everton in the community’ academy

‘Everton in the community’ academy support!

For the past year, here at the inTEC GROUP, we’ve proudly supported the Big Goal initiative from the Street Soccer Foundation. Read why we’re involved here.

Recently, we were delighted to team up with a new Academy of young and vulnerable people at Everton in the community.

A team of inTEC members visited the Academy in November 2024 to offer support and advice. They watched the players put their hearts into preparing for the Big Goal National Final. I was inspiring to see how football can bring people together, boost confidence and create opportunities.

The energy, determination and camaraderie of the team were truly inspiring. Thank you to Everton in the community for their warm hospitality and for making this opportunity possible, it’s partnerships like these that make a real difference.

The highlight of working with Everton in the community was hosting an interactive session centered around recognising the skills you already possess. It’s a topic close to our hearts, as empowering people to see their unique strengths is key to unlocking their potential.

This was all about supporting people from all walks of life who need a bit of help to move forward and create better opportunities for themselves. It was so inspiring to see their drive to turn things around and make the most of what’s ahead.

Support and advice offered by the inTEC team

Employability skills:

  • How to identify what employers value most and how to showcase them.
  • Interview tips.
  • Confidence-building strategies and practical advice for making a strong first impression.
  • Crafting a standout CV and tailoring your CV to highlight transferable skills and accomplishments.
  • Insights into the growing opportunities in the tech sector and how to take the first steps.

The session was buzzing with enthusiasm. It was fantastic to see the participants recognising their potential and feeling inspired to take on new challenges. Their questions and engagement showed us just how much untapped talent is out there.
