Lions IT Refurbishment Program
The Lions IT Refurbishment Program is a charity scheme founded by our very own inTEC engineer, Paulo Silva. Based in Fleet and in collaboration with the Fleet Lions, the charity was set up before the Covid-19 pandemic and since, the volunteers have been working tirelessly to obtain and donate unwanted computers to non-profit organisations, charities, schools and families in need.
They pride themselves on remaining the first port of call for schools and support agencies to supply computers for families in Hart and Rushmoor who are unable to source them via other means. Since establishment, more than 2500 computers have been donated. Although a local charity, they have managed to donate 300 of these computers to schools in Africa and assist many Ukrainian families, who have temporarily settled in North East Hampshire, to communicate via Cyrillic keys to family members back home.
Once sourced, the computers are wiped and cleaned with professional software and loaded with the appropriate program, such as Windows 10/11 or the latest MAC OS. Every device is tested to approve the functionality and then donated to their new home. The charity also collect monetary donations for those who wish to help but are unable to offer a device. This aids in purchasing parts to recover damaged computers.
The charity have made a large impact both socially and environmentally by recycling equipment, preventing the use of landfill and improving the lifestyle of the community.
However, there is a rising demand for supply. As donations are the foundation of their organisation, they are in urgent need of working laptops, (desirably already fitted with Windows 7-11). If you wish to donate to the Lions IT Refurbishment Project, please visit their JustGiving page here or get in contact by email.

Well done Paulo – what an amazing impact you are making to the community!
